Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 13

Russian shelling
The Russian Federation continues its aggressive war, persisting in its plans for the full occupation of Ukraine despite significant losses. The adversary continues to ignore the laws and norms of war, utilizing terror tactics, striking both military and civilian targets.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging. Within a day, there were 89 combat clashes.
The enemy launched 10 missiles and 4 aviation strikes, conducting 32 shelling operations using rocket artillery against our military positions and civilian settlements. Regrettably, there are civilian casualties due to Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.
The situation on the fronts
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operation situation remains unchanged remains unchanged. There are no significant signs of the formation of advancing groups. Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells residential areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
Approximately 20 populated areas, including Bleshnia, Mokhy, Hremiach in the Chernihiv region; Vyntorivka, Brusky, Hovyshivske, Kostiantynivka, Hrabovske, Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region; Veterynarne, Budarky in the Kharkiv region, have experienced artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the Synkivka area and another 2 attacks east of Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region. Close to 10 populated areas, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 enemy attacks in the areas of Serebrian forest in the Luhansk region and east of Terniv in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Nevsko, Bilohorivka, Serebrian forest in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Serebrianka, Spyrne, and Verkhniokamianske in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of Ivanoivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an airstrike in the Kostiantynivka area in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 25 enemy attacks in areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and another 20 attacks south of Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to breach our troops' defense.
Over 10 populated areas, including Berdychiv, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy conducted 11 unsuccessful attacks on our defenders' positions.
The enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of the populated area Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupants, populated areas in the Donetsk region such as Heorhiivka, Mariinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, Paraskeviiivka, and Kostiantynivka were affected.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive actions. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Prechystivka, Staromaiorske, Rivnopil in the Donetsk region, experienced artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of Robotyne and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 20 populated areas, including Levadne, Poltavka, Huliaypole, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, experienced enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted artillery shelling on Ivanivka, Novodmytrivka, Oleksandrivka, and the regional center of the Kherson region, and in Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.
Advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. They persist in delivering fire strikes against the enemy.
Enemy losses
Over a day, our defense aviation conducted strikes on five areas where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated.
Units of the missile forces inflicted damage on the command center of the Russian occupiers and targeted two areas where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated.
The total number of losses suffered by the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion amounts to 341,500 military personnel.
