Russia targets Ukraine with 132 drones: Air Defense confirms destroyed number
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with dozens of drones overnight on November 29, with Ukrainian air defense intercepting more than half of the launched UAVs, the official Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"On the night of November 29, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 132 strike UAVs of the 'Shahed' type and unidentified drones from the directions of Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk," the report said.
Air defense response
The aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile firing teams of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy attack.
"As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense shot down 88 enemy drones in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions," the Air Force noted.
Furthermore, 41 drones were lost locally, likely due to active electronic warfare measures by the Defense Forces, and one drone returned to Russia.
Consequences of Russian attack on Ukraine
The Russian attack caused damage to infrastructure, vehicles, private, and multi-story buildings in several regions of Ukraine. All victims are provided with the necessary medical care.
In Kyiv, the air raid alarm was sounded several times from the evening of November 28 through the night of November 29. Later, it was reported that a fire broke out in a clinic building in the capital's Dniprovskyi district, with one injured person. The debris from the downed Russian drones caused the fire.
In addition, drone fragments fell on the territory of an infrastructure facility in the Sviatoshynskyi city district.
