Danish building materials manufacturer Rockwool said that Russia has taken control of four of its companies operating in Russia. As a result, Rockwool no longer has control over its assets in the country, according to Reuters.

The company said the plants will be excluded from its consolidated financial statements, and the net value of the business will be written off. It noted that the combined net value of the assets as of December 31 stood at $469 million.

Rockwool added that it will defend its lawful rights under the bilateral investment treaty between the two countries, stating:

"We are not optimistic about reversing the decision to place our Russian subsidiaries under forced external administration," the company said.

After Bloomberg reported the confiscation of two subsidiaries, shares of Rockwool fell by 8% on Tuesday.

Russia wages hybrid war against EU

At the end of December 2025, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi said that Russia is intensifying its hybrid war against the European Union.

According to him, Russia has expanded its network of influence agents in the media. While 75 key agents were identified in the EU in February 2025, their number had risen to 169 by November.

Skibitskyi also said Moscow is using the peace narrative not to reach agreements but as an information battering ram to destabilize European societies.

In addition, drones were recorded over several European countries in 2025, which he described as a direct indicator that the hybrid war is moving into the physical domain.
