The Russian army launched a ballistic missile strike on an infrastructure facility in Kryvyi Rih on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2, resulting in fatalities, stated Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the strike has already claimed the lives of three people and injured one.

"A fire broke out. We are clarifying all the details," Lysak wrote.

Meanwhile, residents were warned that the danger remains, and they were urged to stay in shelters.

Lysak later updated the casualty figures.

"Three people were injured in Kryvyi Rih. That’s the latest information. All are receiving medical care, and doctors assess their condition as moderate," he stated.

At the same time, the head of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported on Telegram that the enemy had targeted a civilian infrastructure facility with a ballistic missile.

"Emergency rescue operations are underway. A large fire has broken out. As of now, three people have been killed and three injured. Apartment buildings have been damaged," he reported.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, stated that the death toll from the Russian strike had risen to four.

"Among the injured are a 29-year-old woman and two men, aged 35 and 41. All have been hospitalized," he wrote.

Kryvyi Rih is one of Ukraine’s largest cities, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It is known for its industrial significance, particularly in iron ore mining and metallurgy.

Russia’s attack on Kryvyi Rih

On Saturday, March 29, Russian forces launched another missile strike on Kryvyi Rih.

After the strike, it was reported that one woman was injured. However, the number of casualties later increased to five, then to seven.

Earlier, on the night of March 26, Russian forces attacked the city with Shahed attack drones. The strikes caused fires and damaged residential buildings, an industrial facility, a fire station, and other infrastructure.
