Russia strikes Zaporizhzhia region: Power outages reported

Work continues to restore the electricity supply in the settlements of the Kushuhum community in the Zaporizhzhia district. There were problems with electricity there as a result of yesterday's Russian strikes, says Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration.
According to the official, electricity has already been restored in Malokaterynivka.
Meanwhile, he added, in Kushuhum and Balabyne electricity will be supplied according to the schedule.
The day before, the head of the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration said that as a result of Russian attacks on one of the frontline communities in the Zaporizhzhia region, more than 3,000 subscribers were without electricity and 3 villages were without water supply.
Fedorov also informed that a critical infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of Russian strikes.
The Facebook page of the Kushuhum community (located south of Zaporizhzhia) reported yesterday that as a result of Russian strikes, power was cut off in Balabyne, Kushuhum, and Malokaterynivka villages.
The other day the Kushuhum village council also announced online that the entire community would be banned from going to the coastal areas along the coastline starting March 14.
“The reason is the proximity to the front line (15 km) and the increased level of threat. Anyone seen in the ban zone will be perceived as a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group,” the village council explained.
The statement also emphasized that staying in this zone without the appropriate permission may result in firearms being used.
Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia region
According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Fedorov, during the day the Russian occupiers struck 442 times at 8 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. He specified that:
- 275 Russian drones of various modifications attacked Kamianske, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka.
- Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka were shelled 4 times with Russian multiple rocket launchers.
- 163 Russian artillery strikes were conducted on the territory of Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka.
“There were 7 reports of damage to cars, apartments, private houses and outbuildings. No civilians were injured,” the official said in a statement.
Yesterday, Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo warned that many settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region may have power outages at night on March 18 and 19.
On March 17, emergency blackouts were introduced in the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region due to Russian drone strikes. More than 1,000 consumers were left without electricity in the region.
