Russia strikes western Ukraine to disrupt Western military aid, Poland says

Russian strikes on Ukraine's western regions are an attempt to block military aid supplies, while the coming winter could become a turning point in the war, Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk said, according to TVN24.
According to the official, the coming months, and the winter period in particular, could significantly affect the course of the fighting in the enemy's favor. This is why Western countries must immediately increase their defense support for Kyiv.
"Russia believes this could become a turning point in the war and that Ukraine also needs maximum support from the Western world today to withstand the war and be able to effectively defend itself against air attacks," Tomczyk stressed.
Risks of sabotage and a test for NATO
The Polish minister believes that strikes near the country's borders are also a test for NATO. At the same time, according to the CIA, the Kremlin is considering scenarios for hybrid attacks against European countries as well.
"I don't want to reveal any sensational details here, but what we have seen in Germany — possible acts of sabotage, a possible escalation of hybrid warfare, but on a scale we have not seen before, possible actions of various kinds somewhere in border areas, for example in the Baltic countries, on the border with NATO," Tomczyk said.
In his view, these are "very real scenarios" that could develop into "something much more serious."
On September 13, a Russian jet-powered drone attacked the locomotive of a civilian train at the Yahodyn railway station in the Volyn region. The station is located near the border with Poland.
Warsaw reacted sharply to the incident, while Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called an emergency meeting and said Russia could soon invade his country.
