Russia strikes Ukraine with rockets and drones overnight: Air defense system's work reported
On the night of 14-15 August 2024, Russian troops carried out an air strike on Ukraine, according to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.
Three Russian Kh-59 guided missiles were fired from the airspace of the Kursk region. In addition, 29 Shaheds drones were launched from the districts of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, and Kursk.
As a result of the air battle, the Ukrainian Defense Forces effectively repelled the Russian attack. Mobile firing groups, aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare systems of the Ukrainian Air Force shot down all 29 Russian drones.
Russia attacked Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.

In the first minutes of 15 August, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of a Russian ballistic missile attack. In addition, there were reports of a Russian drone attack on Ukraine.
An explosion was heard in the Cherkasy region. Explosions were also reported in the Poltava region.
