Russia strikes Ukraine with drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of August 9, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. Ukrainian air defense shot down all Russian drones, according to Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
"On the night of August 9, 2024, the Russian invaders attacked with Shahed-type strike UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region of the Russian Federation," he says.
The report notes that the Ukrainian Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and escorted 27 Russian drones.
All Russian UAVs were shot down by mobile firing groups of the Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare of the Ukrainian Air Force in Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donetsk, and Dnipro regions.
Russia's attack on Ukraine
Today, Russia attacked several regions of Ukraine. In particular, an air alert was declared in Kyiv due to a Russian drone attack.
Also, explosions were heard in the city of Dnipro last night amid a Russian drone attack.
