On the night of December 22, Russians launched 86 drones at Ukraine from 5 directions. Most of the drones were shot down, but 26 hits were recorded in various locations, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Details of Russian attack

According to the Ukrainian military, starting at 7 p.m. Kyiv time on Sunday, December 21, Russians attacked Ukraine with 86 Shahed and Gerbera strike drones and other types of drones. Over 50 of them were Shahed drones.

Russia launched drones from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, from the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, as well as from Chauda, a temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Air defense operations

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare forces, and unmanned systems units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were involved in repelling the Russian air attack.

As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces shot down and suppressed 58 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

"26 Russian strike drones were recorded hitting 12 locations, as well as downed (debris) falling at one location," the Ukrainian Air Force says in a statement.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Last night, Russians attacked Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region with strike drones. Russian strikes caused fires and damaged several high-rise buildings.

Russia also directed drones at Pavlohrad. Cars and an unused building caught fire there. The fire was extinguished.
