Russia strikes Ukraine with 38 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of January 7, Russia launched 38 Shahed drones into Ukraine. The air defense shot down 28 Russian drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
From 7:30 p.m. on January 6 to 9 a.m. Kyiv time on January 7, Russia attacked with 38 Shahed-type attack drones and various types of imitator drones from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.
Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
As of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, 28 Russian Shahed-type attack drones and other types of drones were confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kirovohrad regions.
No hits were recorded.
Another 10 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area, three of which flew in the direction of Russia.
On the evening of January 5, Russian drones were spotted in the Kyiv region. Air defense forces were working on Russian targets.
And last night, Russia launched 2 missiles and more than 120 drones against Ukraine. Then the air defense system shot down 81 air targets.
