Russia strikes Ukraine with 2 missiles and 63 drones: Air defense's work reported
Last night, the Russian invaders struck Ukraine with drones and missiles. Almost 10 dozen Russian drones were shot down over 9 regions by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian air attacks
On the night of November 6, the Russian Armed Forces launched 2 Kh-59 and Kh-31P guided missiles to strike the Odesa region. The missiles were launched from the Black Sea.
In addition, Russia launched a total of 63 Shahed-type attack drones and unidentified drones into Ukraine.
They were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel (in Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).
Air defense operations
The following forces were involved in repelling the Russian air attack:
- anti-aircraft missile forces,
- aviation,
- electronic warfare units
- mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Air Force Command said that as of 7.30 a.m. Kyiv time, 38 Russian drones were confirmed to have been shot down over the territories of 9 Ukrainian regions, namely Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Ukrainian military adds that 20 Russian drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine. In addition, 2 more Russian drones are still in Ukraine's airspace, and air defense operations continue.
Russian Shahed attack on Ukraine
On the evening of November 5, Russian invaders were observed launching kamikaze drones toward Ukraine for another air attack.
Thus, an air alert was declared in a number of regions of Ukraine. In addition, there was an air alert in Kyiv last night.
Russian drones were also shot down in the Kyiv region, where air defense was in operation due to the fixation of the Russian Shaheds.
