On the night of March 5, Russia launched 4 missiles and 181 drones at Ukraine. Russian drones attacked from 6 directions, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia attacked Ukraine with:

  • 3 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region;
  • S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile from the Kursk region;
  • 181 Shahed-type drones and imitator drones from the directions of the Russian cities of Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as the temporarily occupied Chouda, Crimea.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the Russian attack.

As of 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time, 115 Russian drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, and a number of other regions. Another 55 Russian simulator drones were lost locally without any negative consequences.

Russia struck Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russians have been systematically striking at critical facilities in Ukraine, which poses a danger to civilians. Russia uses guided aerial bombs, missile weapons of various classes, unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery systems to carry out attacks.

Every night, Russia strikes Ukraine with drones. On March 4, an air alert was declared in many regions of Ukraine due to Russian strikes. In addition, there was information about the threat of a large-scale drone attack on the city of Odesa and the surrounding area. Later it became known that part of the city was left without electricity, water, and heat due to the Russian strikes.
