On the night of August 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with 162 strike drones from five directions. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the Russian drones, but some hit their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Last night, the Russians launched an attack with 162 Shahed-type strike drones (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk directions in Russia; the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk; and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Russian air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial vehicle systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 134 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

Hits were recorded at 18 locations, and downed drones (debris) were found at 3 locations.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

On August 25, Russians launched a massive drone strike on Chernihiv. At least two people were injured as a result of the Russian attack.

Russia also attacked the Ukrposhta postal branch and a staging area for mobile postal units in the town of Mena in the Chernihiv region on two separate occasions.

In addition, the Russians struck Kramatorsk with guided aerial bombs. Among the casualties was a two-month-old infant.
