On the night of September 6, Russians launched over 100 drones of various types at different regions of Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Russia struck Ukraine with 108 drones:

  • Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones)
  • Gerbera drones
  • Parodiya-type decoy drones
  • S8000 Banderol drones.

This time, the drones flew from five directions: Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk of Russia, the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk, and Hvardiiske of Crimea.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed to destroy the Russian targets.

"According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 82 Russian drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other types of drones, and 6 S8000 Banderol drones," the Ukrainian Air Force announced.

In addition, Russian strikes were reported at 11 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 7 more.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned Ukrainians that the Russian attack is still ongoing, as Russian drones are being detected in the sky.

In the Kyiv region, firefighters extinguished a large-scale fire following a Russian attack.

On the evening of September 5, Russia bombarded Zaporizhzhia for over two hours.
