The Russian army launched a drone strike on the building of the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Wednesday, July 30, marking the third such attack in the past five days, Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reports.

According to Hryhorov, around 1:30 p.m. local time, Russian forces hit the administration building with a drone. The strike targeted the city center and injured several people. A 75-year-old woman was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

"Emergency assistance is being provided to all victims. All relevant emergency services are on the scene," Hryhorov stated.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that Russia is systematically targeting civilian and administrative infrastructure in an attempt to intimidate the population and destabilize the region.

"A series of strikes on the administration building suggests that the enemy may continue attempts to destroy it. We urge residents to prioritize safety and avoid staying near administrative buildings and critical infrastructure during air raid alerts," the statement says.

Repeated strikes on Sumy

Over the past few weeks, Russian forces have intensified shelling and assault attempts along the Sumy axis. The city of Sumy has come under near-daily attack.

This latest strike marks the third time the administration building has been targeted in recent days. The previous attacks occurred on July 25 and 26.

As of 2:30 p.m. on July 30, Russian forces had already conducted two drone strikes on Sumy, hitting both the city center and critical infrastructure sites.
