Russian forces struck the site of Nova Poshta's innovative sorting terminal in Kharkiv three times on the afternoon of July 19. Employees were killed and injured in the attack, Nova Poshta company stated.
"The enemy's cynical attack on civilian logistics infrastructure claimed the lives of two of our colleagues and a driver working for a partner carrier. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. The company is in contact with the families of the deceased employees and is providing all necessary assistance."
Several employees were also injured and taken to hospital.
The response to the attack is currently underway. Detailed information about damaged cargo will be determined in the near future.
The company said it would compensate customers for the declared value of shipments destroyed in the attack.
Nova Poshta has activated backup logistics routes and sorting hubs to minimize potential delivery delays. Customers can check the latest information about their shipments through the company's mobile app and website.
Russian missile strike on Kharkiv outskirts
As previously reported, Russian forces attacked the outskirts of Kharkiv at around noon on July 19. The strike left people dead and many others injured.
The regional authorities later clarified that Russia had carried out a missile strike on a postal terminal.
The attack killed three men, aged 24, 45 and 62.
Another 20 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Three of those injured are in serious condition.
