Russia strikes Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs
Explosions rang out in Kharkiv this afternoon, April 5, during an air raid alert. The city is under Russian air strikes, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
Explosions were heard in Kharkiv around 3:27 p.m.
The city hall confirmed the data about the explosions and called on the residents of Kharkiv to be careful.
"The Russian occupiers are striking! Kharkiv and Kharkiv district: stay in shelters!" said the administration.
Later, Terekhov specified that, according to preliminary information, the Russian occupiers had dropped guided aerial bombs on the city. There is currently no data on the dead and wounded, as well as on possible destruction.
"Preliminarily, Kharkiv was attacked with guided aerial bombs. As for the victims and destruction, the information is being clarified," the mayor wrote in his Telegram.
The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration added that the Russian troops had struck the city of Kharkiv and a settlement in the Kharkiv district.
"Preliminarily, it was the guided aerial bombs struck. The details are being established. At the moment, information about the victims has not been received," the head of the administration said.
Russian strikes on Kharkiv and region
Earlier it was reported that on the night of April 5, Russian troops once again attacked the territory of Ukraine with attack drones and missiles. So late in the evening it became known about a series of explosions in Kharkiv.
On April 4, the Russian Federation attacked Kharkiv twice. Before that, the Russian invaders attacked Kharkiv with Shahed drones. Several UAVs damaged private and apartment buildings. Then, during the second attack, three Ukrainian rescuers were killed, who were engaged in liquidation of the consequences of the previous Russian strike. Currently, 12 people are known to have been injured and 4 killed as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv. In addition, an energy facility was damaged in the Kharkiv region.
Also, Russian invaders carried out an airstrike on the non-working airfield in Korotychi, which is in the Kharkiv region. There were no casualties.
