Russia strikes Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant with 2 missiles: Aftermath
In Zaporizhzhia, there were two direct hits on the Dnipro HPP - HPP-1 and HPP-2. Currently, it is not known whether it will be possible to restore HPP-2, as it is seriously damaged, according to the head of Ukrhydroenergo, Ihor Syrota.
"For today, we are losing the station. HPP-2 is under threat, we do not know in what capacity and with what power it will be able to operate. It is because of the hit because two missiles flew with a direct hit on HPP-2," he says.
According to him, one rocket flew along the crane beams and hit the support.
"That is, HPP-2 is in critical condition, and HPP-1 is also not working now. Therefore, we are taking all measures to raise the gates and activate the water, so, unfortunately, we will not be able to activate this water through the station," he says.
