Russian forces continue to terrorize Ukraine’s border regions. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled the Chernihiv and Sumy regions more than 150 times.
This was reported by the North Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
According to the military, the Russian army continues to strike areas under the jurisdiction of the North Operational Command.
Violating the rules of war, Russia cynically and insidiously targets civilians, destroying both residential and critical infrastructure.
Chernihiv region
From 8 a.m. on October 18 to the morning of October 19, the Russian army shelled the Chernihiv region 46 times.
A total of 118 explosions were recorded. The enemy struck the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Koriukivka, and Pryluky districts.
Seventeen settlements in five communities came under fire.
Sumy region
Meanwhile, Russian forces carried out 112 attacks across 47 settlements in 15 communities. Four people were injured as a result of the strikes.
"The enemy resorts to terror against civilians every day: killing peaceful people, destroying infrastructure, and reducing entire cities to ashes. Their sole goal is to destroy Ukraine as a state and Ukrainians as a nation," the military said.
The National Police of Ukraine are already documenting the consequences of the massive attacks on the Sumy region.

According to their data, in Sumy, a 32-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were injured in a strike on the railway station. Two other women were injured when an FPV drone hit a gas station building.
Investigation and operational teams from the police, explosive ordnance specialists, and rescuers worked at the sites of the strikes.
Attacks on Ukraine
Yesterday, October 18, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on the city of Lozova in Kharkiv region, using a guided bomb. This was the first time the occupiers used this type of weapon against this settlement.
The day before, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, reported that for the first time since the start of the full-scale war, Russia launched two guided bombs at Mykolaiv, which hit the outskirts of the city.
On October 18, the occupiers also attacked Sumy with drones. The strike damaged the railway station building and several train cars.
In the night of October 19, Russian drones struck the city of Shakhtarsk in Dnipropetrovsk region. Ten people were injured, residential buildings and vehicles were damaged, and large-scale fires broke out.
