Russian forces struck Chernihiv on October 29, killing at least two civilians, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, announced.
At around 11:56 a.m., reports emerged of an enemy drone strike in the city. At that point, one casualty had been reported.
“The information is being clarified,” Bryzhynskyi wrote.
Just minutes later, reports emerged of the first fatalities from the Russian attack.
“Preliminary reports indicate that two people have been killed and two others injured,” the regional administration chief said.
According to him, fires also broke out at several stores.
All other consequences of the Russian strike are still being assessed.
According to the regional administration chief, Russian forces struck the city center.
Russian troops attacked civilians in Chernihiv who were simply on their way to work, going about their daily lives and making plans for the day.
“Unfortunately, we already know there are dead and injured. This is outright terror against civilians. There is no justification for those who take the lives of innocent people,” Bryzhynskyi stressed.
Earlier on October 29, Russia launched an aerial attack on a civilian electric train in Dnipro. According to the latest reports, 13 people have been killed.
RBC-Ukraine also reported on how Ukrainian air defenses repelled Russia’s overnight attack and how many targets they destroyed.
