Russia still dangerous: Polish president warns Europe

Russia continues to pose a significant danger to Europe, and this threat requires active measures to counter it, Polish President Karol Nawrocki said following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.
Nawrocki stressed that Russia's aggressive nature has not changed over time.
"Russia's essence remains the same—it continues to pose a threat to Central and Eastern Europe," he said.
The Polish president noted that Russia continues to launch missile strikes across Ukraine, despite calls from some countries to return to a policy of so-called "reset" in relations with Moscow.
Nawrocki emphasized that Russia has been a threat for many years, regardless of historical period or political regime.
"This is not just Putin's Russia—it was a threat during the Tsarist era and under the Bolsheviks as well," he added.
He also highlighted the importance of close cooperation among European nations to ensure the continent's security, noting that Poland places special emphasis on this effort.
Zelenskyy's visit to Lithuania
On January 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in Lithuania to participate in official events marking the anniversary of the January Uprising.
During the visit, Zelenskyy is scheduled to hold talks with Lithuanian President Nausėda and Polish President Nawrocki as part of the Lublin Triangle format.
