Russia preparing large-scale mobilization this autumn, Zelenskyy warns

Ukrainian intelligence has obtained information indicating that Russia is preparing a new large-scale mobilization campaign for this autumn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian intelligence has reliable information that the Kremlin plans to conduct an additional troop recruitment in the coming months.
"We have clear intelligence that Russia is preparing a new, quite large-scale wave of mobilization this autumn," Zelenskyy said.
Russian losses are increasing
The president said right now, Russian losses on the front lines exceed its ability to replenish them with new troops. Despite this, he said, Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of reducing the intensity of the war.
Instead, Zelenskyy said, the Kremlin plans to increase the number of attacks and expand the scale of military operations.
"Right now, the Russians are losing more soldiers on the battlefield than they are recruiting, yet Putin intends to intensify attacks and expand this war. He needs more Russians to take part in assault operations," the president said.
How Ukraine plans to respond
Zelenskyy said Ukraine must act proactively and use every available tool to disrupt the Kremlin's plans.
He stressed that this includes not only strengthening defenses on the front line but also increasing pressure on Russia through long-range strikes, strikes on military targets, diplomatic efforts, and international support.
"We must defend ourselves proactively at every level: on the battlefield, through our long-range sanctions, deep strikes, our diplomacy, and, of course, through engagement with everyone who can help protect lives and bring peace closer," Zelenskyy said.
The president emphasized that a comprehensive approach remains essential to countering Russian aggression and achieving a just peace.
Earlier, Zelenskyy warned that Russia had already prepared missiles for new strikes against Ukraine and, according to Ukrainian intelligence, another large-scale attack could take place within the next 48 hours.
