Russia sends general to Kursk region amid North Korean troops' complaints - Ukraine's intelligence
Russia sent a general to the front in the Kursk region, as the DPRK military complained that they were not getting enough to eat, reports Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to intelligence, dissatisfaction with insufficient rations has grown among DPRK army personnel stationed in the Kursk region.
“To solve the problem of hungry North Koreans, Russia sent Major General Mevlyutov, deputy commander for resource support of the Leningrad Military District, to the Kursk fields,” the DIU said.
The Russian general ordered to issue individual rations to the DPRK army from the food reserves of the 11th Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.
Russia continues to deploy the DPRK contingent
The military from the 92nd and 94th Special Forces Brigades of the DPRK army is being transferred to the operational subordination of the Russian Army units participating in the fighting in the Kursk region. In particular, the 22nd Motor Rifle Regiment, the 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, and the 11th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Situation in the Kursk region
At present, Russian troops, with the support of DPRK soldiers, are trying to recapture the previously occupied positions of the Ukrainian military in the Kursk region. The Russians have already made several offensive attempts. In mid-November, Russian troops launched an assault in the Kursk region, but lost 17 pieces of equipment at once, having exploded on mines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Despite successful counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in most of the assaults, by the end of November, Ukraine lost 40% of the territory it controlled in the Kursk region, according to Reuters.
