Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva believes that Russia’s war against Ukraine should soon come to an end, Rai News reports.

The Brazilian President criticized the European Union’s decision to allocate 800 billion euros for the rearmament of member states.

"When money is needed to fight hunger and preserve forests, these resources should be directed to other purposes," he added.

According to Lula da Silva, the main concern of international leaders is who will bear the "debt of war" in Eastern Europe.

"Everyone knows this war is coming to an end. I think both President Putin and Zelenskyy know how this conflict will unfold, as do Europe and Trump. They are just waiting for the moment when they have the courage to announce its conclusion," he said.

Vance’s forecast

Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance said that Russia’s war against Ukraine could end within three to six months.

He also clarified that the Russian side had adjusted its demands regarding the end of the war.

For his part, US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg expressed hope that peace in Ukraine could be achieved within a year, by the next Independence Day of Ukraine.

He also emphasized that waging war is easier than achieving peace.
