Russia's nighttime attack on Kyiv: Ukrainian air defense destroyed all drones threatening capital
On October 11, the Russian military once again attempted to strike Kyiv with drones. Air raid alerts in the capital lasted over three hours, according to Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
This marks the fifth aerial attack on the capital since the beginning of October. Russian drones approached the city from various directions. Air defense forces neutralized all UAVs threatening Kyiv.
"Information regarding damage or casualties has not been reported. Operational data is being updated and clarified," the statement said.
The Kyiv City Military Administration added that as of 6:51 a.m. (Kyiv time), combat operations against the remaining enemy UAVs were underway in the Kyiv region. Therefore, the announcement of another air raid alert in the capital has not been ruled out.
"I strongly urge you (residents of Kyiv -ed.) to heed the alert signals and use shelters in case of danger. Take care of yourselves," said Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
It is worth noting that last night, the enemy attacked Ukraine with both drones and missiles. The Russians deployed 62 UAVs, as well as 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 1 Kh-31P guided aviation missile, 2 Kh-59/69 missiles, and 3 S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles.
The response to the attack involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. By morning, Ukrainian air defense forces had destroyed 41 enemy drones in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Kyiv, and several other regions.
Additionally, 14 drones were locally lost in various areas of Ukraine, likely due to electronic warfare operations.
