Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 28: +2,090 troops and 1,382 drones

The latest battlefield data shows the scale of Russia's reported daily losses in the war against Ukraine. Ukraine's Armed Forces provide estimates covering both Russian personnel casualties and the destruction or loss of military equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 28, 2026, are estimated to be:

- Special equipment ‒ 4,763 (+7)

- MLRS ‒ 2,165 (+2)

Frontline situation
During Operation Vivaldi, Ukraine's Third Army Corps used upgraded ground robots equipped with grenade launchers to attack Russian positions without the direct involvement of infantry. The operators could be located dozens of kilometers from the line of contact.
Meanwhile, a new major prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia could take place as early as next week.
