Frontline situation
According to the latest data from analysts at the Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces have made advances in the Luhansk and Donetsk directions.
Additionally, on October 2, it was officially confirmed that Ukraine's defense forces withdrew from Vuhledar in the Donetsk region in order to preserve personnel and military equipment.
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat from Vuhledar due to enemy pressure. Despite suffering immense losses, Russian forces managed to capture the town. As a result, Ukrainian troops will now have to fall back to fortified positions and continue holding the line, while Russian forces are likely to push toward Kurakhove.
