The Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,160 Russian occupants over the day, bringing the total losses of the Russian army in personnel since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine to about 476,460 troops. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 25 Russian tanks, 14 armored personnel carriers, and 37 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 7, 2024, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 476,460 (+1160) people were killed;
  • tanks - 7405 (+25) units;
  • armored personnel carriers - 14,227 (+14) units;
  • artillery systems - 12,287 (+37) units;
  • MLRS - 1057 units;
  • air defense systems - 792 (+1) units;
  • airplanes - 349 units;
  • helicopters - 325 units;
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9717 (+34) units;
  • cruise missiles - 2149 (+1) units;
  • ships/boats - 26 units;
  • submarines - 1 unit;
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 16509 (+32) units;
  • special equipment - 2017 (+9) units.

According to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 97 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline in Ukraine over the past day. The situation was the most intense in the Avdiivka direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 31 Russian attacks.
