Over the last day, from May 6 to May 7, the Russian army lost 1,270 troops and 14 tanks in the war with Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 7, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 960,770 (+1,270) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,780 (+14);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,419 (+3);
  • artillery systems - 27,502 (+71);
  • MLRS - 1,378;
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,155;
  • aircraft - 372;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 35,266 (+124);
  • cruise missiles - 3,197 (+1);
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 47,484 (+131);
  • special equipment - 3,873.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

At night, Russian invaders again attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. An air alert was declared in many regions.

Last night, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv.

First, the capital was fired upon with ballistic missiles, causing a fire in one of the districts.

Subsequently, explosions were heard in Kyiv due to a Russian Shahed attack.

Russia killed 2 people and injured 8 in the city with drones and the fall of debris on residential buildings.

After 6 a.m. Kyiv time, explosions were heard again in the capital due to a new Russian kamikaze drone attack.
