Russian losses in the war in Ukraine on May 22 amounted to 1,330 occupiers. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 27 enemy armored personnel vehicles and 40 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to May 23, 2024 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: 497,700 (+1,330) eliminated

  • APV (Armored personnel vehicles): 14,748 (+27)
  • Artillery systems: 12,860 (+40)
  • MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems): 1,077

  • UAV operational-tactical level: 10,391 (+45)
  • Cruise missiles: 2,209 (+1)

On Wednesday, May 22, Ukrainian forces shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft in the Pokrovsk direction.

According to ISW, on May 22, Russian forces continued their offensive in the Liptsy area, but the front line remained unchanged. In the Vovchansk region, the situation is dynamic, with minor advances reported by both the occupiers and the Ukrainian defenders.
