Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 22: Over 1300 soldiers and 41 artillery systems
According to Ukrainian military sources, Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine from May 21 to May 22 amounted to 1300 soldiers. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 22 armoured personnel vehicles and 41 artillery systems, according to the data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to May 22, 2024, are estimated as follows:
- personnel - 496,370 (+1300) individuals eliminated;
- tanks - 7611 (+6) units;
- armoured personnel vehicles - 14,721 (+22) units;
- artillery systems - 12,820 (+41) units;
- MLRS - 1077 units;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 812 (+1) units;
- aircraft - 354 units;
- helicopters - 326 units;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 10,346 (+56) units;
- cruise missiles - 2208 (+1) units;
- warships/boats - 27 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- vehicles & fuel tankers - 17,442 (+59) units;
- special equipment - 2090 (+5) units.
After the resumption of American weapons supplies, Ukrainian military officials announced the absence of a shortage of artillery shells on the front lines.
The defense forces managed to repel most of the Russian attacks and maintain control over 60% of the territory of Vovchansk. However, the Russian army continues to storm and ruthlessly shell the city and the Kharkiv region.
