Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 1,230 Russian invaders in a day, destroyed 2 Russian air defense systems, 3 tanks, and 45 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 1, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 953,190 (+1,230) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,732 (+3);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,364 (+11);
  • artillery systems - 27,136 (+45);
  • MLRS - 1,375 (+1);
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,148 (+2);
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 34,401 (+112);
  • cruise missiles - 3,196;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 46,750 (+139);
  • special equipment - 3,869.

Situation at front

As reported earlier by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the evening update on April 30, 177 combat clashes have occurred at the front since the beginning of the day.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces of Ukraine also informed that the Russian invaders continue to storm in the Pokrovsk direction actively.

A report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published on May 1 stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had recently advanced in the Kursk region and near Toretsk. Meanwhile, the Russian invaders had advanced near Lyman and in the Toretsk direction.
