Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Friday morning, June 28, amounted to 1170 Russian occupants, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine to 540,490. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down an airplane, and destroyed 60 artillery systems and 50 drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to June 28, 2024, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 540490 (+1170) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 8066 (+24) units;
  • armored combat vehicles - 15480 (+21) units;
  • artillery systems - 14423 (+60) units;
  • MLRS - 1109 (+1) units;
  • air defense systems - 871 (+3) units;
  • aircraft - 360 (+1) units;
  • helicopters - 326 units;
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 11509 (+50) units;
  • cruise missiles - 2329 (+5) units;
  • ships/boats - 28 units;
  • submarines - 1 unit;
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 19514 (+46) units;
  • special equipment - 2431 (+11) units.

Situation at frontline

Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove sectors remained the most tense areas of the frontline over the last day. Russia lost over 300 troops in the Pokrovsk sector.
