Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 8: +1,070 troops and 41 artillery systems

Over the past day, from July 7 to July 8, the Russian army lost 1,070 soldiers and 41 artillery systems on the frontline, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to July 8, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 1,028,610 (+1,070) people wounded/killed;
- tanks - 10,995 (0);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,967 (+4);
- artillery systems - 33,034 (+41);
- MLRS - 1,434 (+2);
- air defense systems - 1,192;
- aircraft - 421;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 44,230 (+172);
- cruise missiles - 3,439;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 54,456 (+86);
- special equipment - 3,927.
Frontline situation
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia lost 1,100 soldiers over the past day, July 7. In particular, Ukrainian Defense Forces hit three enemy tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, 33 artillery systems, and more.
Furthermore, according to the ISW update, Russian forces advanced in several directions: in the north of the Sumy region and the areas of Novopavlivka, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk.
