Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 31: +1,340 troops and 1,525 drones

Ukraine's Defense Ministry has reported fresh figures on Russian battlefield losses, covering personnel and military equipment since the invasion began.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to July 31, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel - nearly 1,446,150 (+1,340)
- Tanks ‒ 12,231 (+1)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,056 (+7)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,483 (+3)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 128,034 (+413)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,081 (+10)
- Artillery systems ‒ 47,045 (+42)
- MLRS ‒ 1,976
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,525 (+3)
- Aircraft ‒ 439
- Helicopters ‒ 354
- UAVs (operational-tactical level) ‒ 435,665 (+1,525)
- Cruise missiles ‒ 5,005 (+55)
- Warships and boats ‒ 34
- Submarines ‒ 2

Frontline situation
Ukrainian forces struck Russian military targets in occupied Crimea, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as inside Russia, hitting drone facilities, air defense systems, radar stations and other military infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Russia launched a massive overnight missile and drone attack across Ukraine on July 30, killing at least several people and injuring dozens.
Kyiv, Lviv, the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions were among the areas hit, with homes, apartment buildings and civilian infrastructure damaged.
Poland also scrambled fighter jets after an unidentified object was found near its border.
