Situation on the front
According to the latest data, the fiercest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka directions. However, Ukrainian defenders are managing to hold their positions and prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into the territory.
At the same time, Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, and Myrnohrad remain under Ukrainian control, despite false claims by Russia’s military leadership about the capture of these cities. While the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other units of the Defense Forces acknowledge that intense fighting for territory is ongoing.
It has also become known why the command of the Russian Armed Forces spread disinformation about the occupation of cities that are still under Kyiv’s control. The reason is that Russian officials feared losing their jobs and ranks.
Notably, Russia has set a new deadline for capturing Kupiansk — February of this year.
