Russia's losses in Ukraine as of January 16: +1,480 troops, 120 drones, 40 artillery systems
Over the last day, from January 15 to January 16, the Russian army lost 1,480 soldiers, 31 cruise missiles, and 137 vehicles at the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to January 16, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 814,150 (+1,480) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9,791 (+11);
- armored personnel vehicle - 20,368 (+20);
- artillery systems - 22,015 (+40);
- MLRS - 1,262;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,046;
- aircraft - 369;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level- 22,503 (+120);
- cruise missiles - 3,049 (+31);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 34,132 (+137);
- special equipment - 3,697 (+1).
Situation at front and Russian strikes on Ukraine
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russia's troops succeeded in the Kharkiv region and near Toretsk and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
According to the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are putting pressure on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk and Donetsk regions.
Last night, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. By morning, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down all Russian targets.
