Russia's losses in Ukraine as of February 28: +1,060 troops, 172 drones, 54 artillery systems

Over the past 24 hours, from February 27 to February 28, the Russian army lost 1,060 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. The total Russian losses in personnel and equipment have become even greater, as the data was corrected after receiving clarifications, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to February 28, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 874,560 (+1,060) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10,222 (+13);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 21,234 (+17);
- artillery systems - 23,847 (+54);
- MLRS - 1,303 (+1);
- air defense systems - 1,087;
- aircraft - 370;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 27,274 (+172);
- cruise missiles - 3,085;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 38,944 (+126);
- special equipment - 3,763 (+4).
“Due to the constant receipt of updated intelligence data, it became necessary to adjust some positions of total Russian losses - personnel, armored combat vehicles, artillery systems, MLRS, air defense systems, cruise missiles, vehicles and special equipment. The total figure has been adjusted, and the losses for the day are reported as usual,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine adds.
As of 10 p.m. Kyiv time, on January 27, 118 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. As in previous days, Russia attacked most intensively in the Pokrovsk sector, carried out 43 assault and offensive actions during the day.
The highest Russian activity in this area was recorded in the vicinity of Berezivka, Myrne, Luch, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Vdalne, Nadiivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Zaporizhzhia, Andriivka and Bohdanivka. In addition, Russia used 15 guided bombs on the settlements of Oleksiivka, Pokrovsk, and Vdale.
