Russia's losses in Ukraine as of February 16: +1,730 troops and a lot of equipment

Over the past day, from February 15 to 16, Russian forces lost 1,730 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 84 troop-carrying AFVs and 77 vehicles, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to February 16, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 858 390 (+1730) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10 073 (+5);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 21 011 (+84);
- artillery systems - 23 185 (+11);
- MLRS - 1283;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1067;
- aircraft - 370;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 25 377 (+36);
- cruise missiles - 3,063;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 37 456 (+77);
- special equipment - 3749 (+2).
Situation on the front line
As of 10:00 p.m. on February 15, a total of 250 combat clashes took place. Russian forces have significantly intensified their offensive, increasing assault operations by 2.5 times, with the highest activity observed in the Pokrovsk sector. In particular, Russian troops attempted to advance on Ukrainian positions 67 times, but Ukrainian defenders repelled 47 of these assaults.
Since the beginning of the day, across the entire front line, Russian forces have carried out 33 airstrikes and used 47 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they launched 500 kamikaze drones and fired approximately 4,000 times at Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.
