Over the past day, from December 19 to 20, Russian forces lost another 1,090 soldiers on the battlefield. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed 37 artillery systems, 130 vehicles, and 346 drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to December 20, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel - approximately 1,195,610 (+1,090)
  • Tanks - 11,433
  • Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,769 (+1)
  • Artillery systems - 35,287 (+37)
  • MLRS - 1,575 (+1)
  • Anti-aircraft systems - 1,263
  • Aircraft - 432
  • Helicopters - 347
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 92,488(+346)
  • Cruise missiles - 4,073
  • Warships/boats - 28
  • Submarines - 2
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks - 70,721 (+130)
  • Special equipment - 4,028 (+1).

Situation at the front

As of Friday evening, December 19, 148 combat engagements were recorded along the front line. Almost one-third of them occurred exclusively in the Pokrovsk direction.

In particular, the enemy attempted to attack this section of the front 38 times. According to the General Staff’s report, the adversary launched attacks in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Zvereve, Kotlyne, Udachne, Myrnohrad, Molodetske, Dachne, Filial, and toward Novopidhorodne, Nove Shakhove, Svitlo, Hryshyne, and Novopavlivka.
