Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 17: +900 troops and 4 tanks

The Russian army has lost 900 troops on the front, along with one air defense system, four tanks, and eight armored vehicles, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to August 17, 2025, are approximately as follows:
- personnel - about 1,069,950 (+900) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 11,116 (+4);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 23,143 (+8);
- artillery systems - 31,589 (+49);
- MLRS - 1,468 (+1);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,208 (+1);
- aircraft - 422;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 51,528 (+186);
- cruise missiles - 3,558;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 58,821 (+88);
- special equipment - 3,942.
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold the line near Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. However, the Russian military command is attempting to break through in this sector by deploying additional forces and equipment. So far, their efforts have been unsuccessful.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on August 15 alone, Russia lost more than 1,000 soldiers on the front, along with various military equipment, including tanks and drones.
