Russia's battlefield losses continued to grow over the past day, according to Ukraine's MoD, which reported fresh casualties and equipment losses in its daily update.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 16, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel - nearly 1,467,320 (+1,510)
- Tanks ‒ 12,270 (+1)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,151 (+7)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,535 (+7)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 134,851 (+476)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,257 (+16)
- Artillery systems ‒ 48,007 (+75)
- MLRS ‒ 2,034 (+8)
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,570 (+2)
- Aircraft ‒ 439
- Helicopters ‒ 354
