Frontline situation

Over the past two days, Russian combat activity has temporarily decreased, but Ukraine says this is only a short pause. Moscow continues to focus on occupying Donbas and is maintaining pressure in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions, including attempts to advance toward Kupiansk and establish a border “control zone.”
Meanwhile,

Ukraine is competing with Russian forces in three key areas—drone capabilities, technology, and economic capacity—Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said after a meeting with military leaders.

He highlighted progress in the use of various unmanned systems, including FPV and interceptor drones, but noted ongoing challenges in procurement, funding, and organization. Ukraine aims to expand its drone capabilities to gain an edge while minimizing troop losses.
