Russia's losses in Ukraine as of April 17: 710 troops and 18 APCs

Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, April 17, amount to 710 troops, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine to 456,050. In addition, the Ukrainian defenders destroyed 24 vehicles and 18 armored personnel carriers, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The total combat Russian losses from 24.02.22 to 17.04.24 are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 456,050 (+710) troops were killed;
- tanks - 7193 (+4) units
- armored personnel carriers - 13827 (+18) units;
- artillery systems - 11624 (+15) units;
- MLRS - 1046 units;
- air defense systems - 760 (+1) units;
- airplanes - 347 units;
- helicopters - 325 units;
- UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9279 (+2) units;
- cruise missiles - 2093 (+1) units;
- ships/boats - 26 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- motor vehicles and tankers - 15587 (+24) units;
- special equipment - 1910 (+2) units.
Situation at front
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Armed Forces have recently regained some positions near Avdiivka.
In Ukraine, 68 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. Ukrainian aviation attacked two Russian control points.
