Russia reports conversation between Lavrov and US Secretary of State

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has held telephone conversations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to the Russian propaganda news agency TASS.
"At the initiative of the American side, the foreign ministers of the two countries had a telephone conversation," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
No further details of the talks have been disclosed. The United States, in turn, has not yet confirmed the call.
Details from the Russian side
During the talks, Rubio and Lavrov agreed to maintain a channel of communication to resolve the problems that have accumulated in U.S.-Russian relations.
Among other things, the parties reaffirmed their "mutual commitment" to cooperate on issues related to a full-scale war in Ukraine, the situation around Palestine and the Middle East in general, and other regional issues.
"It was agreed to organize a meeting of experts shortly to agree on concrete steps to mutually remove obstacles to the work of foreign missions of Russia and the United States," the Russian Foreign Ministry wrote.
In the end, the two allegedly confirmed their readiness to work together to "restore mutually respectful interstate dialogue," and also agreed to continue regular contacts to prepare for a Russian-American summit meeting.
Trump announces meeting in Saudi Arabia
On February 13, US President Donald Trump made a statement about a possible meeting between representatives of the United States, Ukraine, and Russia, which is supposed to take place in Saudi Arabia next week. However, a source in the Ukrainian president's team told RBC-Ukraine that Kyiv did not plan any talks during this period.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does indeed plan to visit Saudi Arabia and Turkey. However, his schedule does not include meetings with representatives of Russia.
Trump recently announced his intention to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
