Russia relentlessly attacks Chasiv Yar, situation critical
The situation in Chasiv Yar is critically difficult. Russia is continuously attacking head-on and trying to outflank the town, according to the 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The soldiers of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with other units, continue to hold back Russia's advance in extremely difficult situations.
"The Russian occupiers are throwing paratroopers, special forces, and former prisoners from the Storm-V units to storm the city, attacking it head-on and trying to outflank it (the city - ed.)," the Brigade adds.
Ukraine's soldiers note Russia's resources are endless - new ones are coming to replace the destroyed Russians. At the same time, Ukraine needs more weapons, drones, and support.
Currently, the most fierce fighting is taking place in the area of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas Canal.
"Russia is mercilessly destroying the city with all possible means, using a huge number of FPV drones and dropping bombs on the city's defenders," the Brigade says.
Situation in Chasiv Yar
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Russia may intensify attacks in the Toretsk sector to develop an offensive on Chasiv Yar from the south.
According to Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping, Russian troops are shelling the town with thermobaric ammunition, which destroys everything.
