Starting next month, the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Luhansk Donetsk People's Republic (LNR) passports will no longer be valid. Russia aims to carry out extensive passportization in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).

"Starting from December 1, 2024, the passports of the pseudo-republics of the DPR and LPR, which the Russian authorities have been forcing residents of the temporarily occupied Donbas to receive since 2014, will become invalid," the statement reads.

The reason for this is the forced change of citizenship, and consequently, the change of passports. The Kremlin has tasked its subordinates with achieving 100% passportization of Ukrainians - meaning that they must obtain Russian passports.

For this reason, local collaborators in the so-called republics are intensifying the process of replacing the existing passports with Russian ones. They justify this by stating that starting January 1, 2025, residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine who do not have a Russian passport will lose all rights and opportunities.

"The most socially vulnerable segments of the population under Russian occupation are being intimidated," the information resource added.
