In the Russian State Duma, approximate dates have already been suggested for a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Reportedly, the meeting could take place in February or March of this year, according to Leonid Slutsky, the head of the Duma Committee on International Relations.

"The work requires serious preparation, which is already in an advanced stage," Slutsky asserted.

He added that information about the Trump-Putin meeting is expected to emerge soon.

"The meeting could cover the most pressing issues in global politics: Ukraine, the Middle East, and the framework for international relations in the near future. Whether it will be held in February or March remains to be seen," Slutsky noted.

Possible Trump-Putin negotiations

Recall that US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin have already expressed willingness to hold talks.

A few days ago, Trump mentioned that his team had scheduled meetings and discussions with Ukraine and Russia, noting that "these discussions are going quite well." Meanwhile, Kremlin sources claimed that Putin is ready to meet with Trump "without any preconditions."

As has been repeatedly stated by both the current US administration and the White House, these efforts aim to bring a swift end to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

At the same time, representatives of Trump acknowledge that they will not be able to quickly end the conflict in Ukraine, asserting that both sides "will have to make concessions."

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that if Trump were to offer strong security guarantees for Ukraine, discussions with the Russians could follow.
