Russia prepares new offensive on Pokrovsk front, aims to advance toward Dobropillia

Russian forces are stepping up preparations for new offensive operations on the Pokrovsk front. The Russian troops' main goal remains advancing toward Dobropillia, according to the 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Rubizh.
The brigade said that Russian forces continue preparing to intensify assault operations in its area of responsibility.
According to the military, Russian forces are actively conducting aerial reconnaissance and attempting to clear routes of mines to allow assault groups to advance. They are likely to use ATVs and motorcycles for the attacks, which would allow them to move quickly toward Ukrainian positions.
At the same time, Rubizh emphasized that despite repeated assault attempts, Russian forces have been unable to achieve their objectives. Ukrainian defenders detect Russian troops in time and destroy them before they can reach Ukrainian positions.
The brigade said the occupiers' main objective remains advancing toward Dobropillia. Russia is concentrating its main efforts in that direction but has so far been unable to carry out its plans.
This week, Rubizh troops also took part in repelling a large-scale Russian mechanized assault, which was successfully thwarted together with the National Guard's 1st Corps Azov and neighboring units.
During the battle, brigade troops destroyed an armored combat vehicle and an MTU-72 bridge-layer, and also contributed to the destruction of other Russian military equipment.
"The warriors of the Rubizh Brigade continue to maintain control of the situation, effectively countering the enemy's attempts to break through our defenses," the brigade said.
Earlier, despite intense fighting in eastern Ukraine, Russia has continued efforts to create a threat in the north of the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously said that Ukraine's Defense Forces were preparing for various scenarios in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction based on intelligence assessments.
