Russia must face appropriate consequences for any manipulations or violations of agreements. Pressure is the only remedy for Russian lies, states Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"Ukrainian and American teams worked constructively in Saudi Arabia, achieving significant results on issues of freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and ceasefire on energy facilities," said Sibiha.

He noted that Ukraine aims to implement these results and contribute to achieving a just and lasting peace together with the US and European allies.

"Unfortunately, we are already seeing how Russia is trying to manipulate and condition agreements on easing sanctions or anything else. But this is reflected only in statements from Russia itself," the minister added.

According to him, Russia always lies, but now it will be particularly noticeable to the whole world if President Vladimir Putin continues to drag out the war.

Sybiha reminded that Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for a full 30-day ceasefire on March 11, but Russia rejected it.

"We do not trust Russian words, and no one should trust them. We need to look at Russia's actions, not its statements. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether Russia is seriously seeking peace or intends to deceive the United States and the world," the Foreign Minister emphasized.

According to him, pressure is the only remedy for Russian lies.

"Moscow must face appropriate consequences for any manipulations or violations of agreements. We continue to work with our partners to ensure this," Sybiha stressed.

Russia's manipulations

Today, Russia published a final statement following a meeting with American officials in Saudi Arabia. In the statement, the conditions for a ceasefire with Ukraine at sea were outlined.

The Kremlin emphasized that the agreements on a ceasefire at sea could only come into effect after:

  • Lifting sanctions on Rosselkhozbank and other financial organizations involved in international food and fertilizer trade operations;

  • Connecting these organizations to SWIFT;

  • Lifting sanctions on food and fertilizer producers and exporters;

  • Lifting restrictions on servicing ships in ports and sanctions on ships flying the Russian flag;

  • Lifting restrictions on the supply of agricultural machinery to Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of manipulations and lies regarding the ceasefire in the Black Sea and the energy sector.
